Young woman chases off would-be rapist

A 22-year-old woman who lives in a hostle at Kalasin province fought off an acquaintance who was infactuated with her and tried to rape her in her room in the dead of the night, Sanook.com said today.

Reporters of this news site contacted the woman, Ms A (assumed name), who confirmed the post and video clip of the incident shared by Facebook member Social Hunter V22.

This video clip shows two men on a motorcycle riding up to the hostel. Then one of them, wearing a white shirt, walks up to the second floor and knocks on the door before going in.

A little later he jumps off the balcony of this room and hops on the waiting motorbike and zooms away.

Ms A said it was close to 1 a.m. on Sunday when she heard someone knocking on her door. She thought it was her colleague coming over to sleep with her after quarreling with her boyfriend but when she opened the door, it was this man she was acquainted with through travelling together a few times and who was sending lots of Facebook messages which she ignored, who was standing there.

This man, who she confirmed was not her boyfriend as she already had one, then pushed his way in and started strangling her thus forcing her to strip naked. She tried to fend him off by saying she was suffering from menstrual pain but to no avail.

However she got a chance to free herself and managed to pick up a knife, which scared him and he quickly left.

Kalasin police station confirmed that Ms A had called them at around 1 a.m. last night. She has been taken for a medical check with the  report awaited. Police will be calling her in for detailed questioning and are chasing the would-be rapist for legal action.
