A COUPLE OF “independent” agencies are being petitioned tomorrow (June 9) to look into allegations that Provincial Administration Department Director-General Narucha Kosacivilize had unlawfully, evidently instructed his subordinate officials such as one in Phuket to “Do help the Blue” pertaining to the ruling Bhumjaithai’s electoral campaign earlier this year.

People’s MP Chalermpong Saengdee, currently representing Phuket, and ex-People’s MP Wirot Lakkhanaadisorn are formally calling on the National Anti-Corruption Commission and Election Commission to separately investigate the notorious phenomenon in which Narucha had allegedly texted a Line message to tell former provincial undersecretary Rungruang Thimabut to “Do help the Blue” about a month ahead of the Feb.8 general election in the southern island constituencies.

In political jargon, the Blue refers to the Bhumjaithai, core of the current coalition government surreptitiously directed by de facto party boss Newin Chidchob.

Narucha, known as a protege of the de facto Bhumjaithai boss, was believed to not only instruct the ex-Phuket provincial undersecretary but many others under his command to do anything, albeit in very discreet, yet-illicit fashion, to help with the “Blue” electoral campaign which surprisingly saw a record number of 192 MP seats grabbed by Newin’s camp in the nationwide election. However, none of a trio of Bhumjaithai contestants vying for Phuket was elected since they were defeated by People’s and Klatham contenders.

The department chief has categorically dismissed the allegations saying his Line account could have been used by others without his knowledge whilst some of the commissioners of those “independent” agencies had been contentiously named by a majority of senators known to be practically loyal to and supportive of the Bhumjaithai.

Deputy People’s leader/MP Parit Wacharasindhu has earlier called on Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who concurrently acts as interior minister and Bhumjaithai leader, to set up an unprecedented, multi-partisan committee to investigate the scandals surrounding the department chief in regard to his party’s electoral campaign in the previous race to parliament.

Parit suggested that the prime minister-cum-interior minister transfer Narucha who could probably otherwise be promoted as undersecretary for interior upon the start of the upcoming October if the sought-after, multi-partisan panel was eventually set up to look into such scandals.

Anutin has categorically dismissed the allegations in which, he said, he himself had been by no means involved and roughly concluded that a fact-finding committee might probably be set up for that matter.
