TWO men holidaying in Thailand were found dead in a hotel near Khaosan road today (April 7) with there being no signs of struggle and their bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, TV Channel 7 said.
At approximately 2 p.m., Pol. Lt. Raksit Sirirak, deputy investigator at Chanasongkhram police station, was informed of two foreign tourists having been found unconscious in room 409 on the fourth floor of this hotel in Khaosan road area and quickly went there after alerting Por Teck Tung Foundation to likewise send a team.
Upon arrival it was found that the two tourists, Mr. Coogler, 30, a South African national, and Mr. Sterstraja, 38, a Latvian national, (names translated as written in Thai) who were lying supine had died. A forensic doctor from Vajira Hospital and forensic investigators were called to the scene.
At 4.30 p.m. the forensic team said after inspecting the scene that there were no signs of struggle while Por Teck Tung Foundation rescuers transported the bodies of the two men to Vajira Hospital for a detailed autopsy.
