A TOUR BUS carrying 38 Russian tourists overturned after the brakes failed blocking Kamala-Patong road in Phuket late afternoon today (March 22) with all holidaymakers getting injured, Amarin TV said.
At 5.10 p.m. Pol. Lt. Pimanat Dinkamin, deputy chief inspector at Kamala police station, was alerted of this accident and quickly rushed there together with Kusoldham Foundation rescuers. There they found that the 42-seat white bus had overturned by the roadside.
Mr. Chalermpong Saengdee, MP for district two, said 41 people had got injured in this accident including the driver and the tour guide who accompanied the 38 Russian tourists. Kusoldham Foundation rescuers and Kamala Subdistrict Administration Organisation rescue vehicles took the injured to Patong Hospital.
The tour bus company is now trying to check the names of those who had got injured.
While no one died in this accident the overturned bus did block the road causing heavy traffic congestion with road users alerted to avoid this route.
