THE APPEALS Court today (Dec. 31) denied bail for a second suspect in the death of an influencer/rapper who was known to have been often paid to be bullied and died at a party after gulping down two of three 350ml bottles of alcohol for payment of 30,000 baht, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon.
Mr. Thirawat Srirod, or Bird Wan Wang Wang, 37, who is also a well-known influencer, has been charged with committing indecent acts against Mr. Thanakhan Kanthi, or Bank Lester, 27, who was mentally disabled and had shot to fame for selling garlands to feed his grandmother, and uploading obscene material online.
The court permitted an initial 12-day detention of the suspect till Jan. 10 as asked by the Technology Crime Suppression Division police.
This followed the Criminal Court having initially refused to allow his temporary release as requested by his relatives.
Thirawat had yesterday confessed to reporters just as he was being taken to court by police that he did film a pornagraphic clip showing a Tik Tok influencer sexually abusing Bank Lester but said he did not earn any money from it and that it was just a joke, PPTVHD36 said.
He denied releasing the clip in a Line app group and vowed that if he was granted bail he would not make such content again.
Asked whether he had cheated Bank Lester, Thirawat told the reporters to go find evidence.
He also said he did not know whether police were taking action against a man who had physically assaulted him on Dec. 27.
