Deadly moonshine claims another victim taking toll to 10

ANOTHER person who drank deadly moonshine last month died today (Sep. 10) raising the death toll to 10 while two more are still hospitalised in critical condition, Naewna newspaper said.

A total of 44 people who drank the moonshine, which had methanol in it and was sold in Min Buri, Nong Chok and Khlong Sam Wa districts of Bangkok as herbal liquor, were hospitalised after Aug. 22. While 32 have recovered, two others are red-level cases being treated at Lerdsin and Nopparat Rajathanee hospitals.

The patient who died today was also being treated at Lerdsin Hospital while the one who is still there is still in quite critical condition with both of them being in bad shape right from the start.

However the patient at Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital no longer needs oxygen support and his condition is improving.
