DE FACTO Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra said this afternoon (July 14) he is concerned about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump being injured during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania while also mentioning that he too survived attempts on his life when he was prime minister, Naewna newspaper said.

Thaksin added that he is going to send Trump a message on X voicing his concern and hoping that he stays safe.

This is about people who are dissatisfied about politics sometimes expressing it  through violence which is not good, he added.

Asked whether security for important people in Thailand should be stepped up, Thaksin replied that  care has to be taken everywhere now but the situation will likely not reach this point in Thailand as this is a Buddhist country while mentioning that he himself survived many assassination attempts when he was prime minister so has to be careful.
