THE FOREIGN MINISTRY early this morning (Nov. 27) announced that a third group of three Thai hostages were released by Hamas last night (Israel time) taking the total set free to 17 with 10 freed first and four others on Saturday, Naewna newspaper said.
It is estimated that another 15 Thais are still being held in captivity.
The Thai embassy in Tel Aviv identified the three released men as follows:
1) Mr. Wichian Temthong;
2) Mr. Surin Kaesungnoen;
3) Mr. Phonsawan Pinakalo.
They are all currently undergoing health checks at an Israeli hospital with embassy officials helping coordinate with the medical team and informing their families.
The Thai government is doing its best to get the estimated remaining 15 Thais still held hostage released safely as soon as possible.
All 17 who have been released will be flown back to Thailand after they have gone through the initial recovery process in Israel.
