THE Criminal Court granted bail to popular actress Ms. Rybena Intachai, aka Nana Rybena, who had been arrested on charges defrauding 17 close friends, acquaintances, and parents of students studying at international schools out of a total of 195 million baht but forbade her from leaving the country unless permitted to do so by the court plus ordered psychological counselling, PPTVHD said this afternoon (Dec. 4).
Mr. Suriyan Hongwilai, spokesperson for the Court of Justice, said the Criminal Court had appointed a counsellor from its psychosocial counselling clinic to oversee and provide counselling to the accused during her temporary release. It is deemed that this will be beneficial in monitoring the accused to prevent reoffence and contribute to the society. The counsellor will use a motivational interviewing process to help the accused feel less alone when faced with problems, allowing her to express her feelings and emotions and repressed fantasies.
With an understanding and empathetic listener, the accused will feel relaxed and regain mental balance in a short period of time. This will promote self-respect, self-worth, and the development of coping mechanisms, enabling her to recognise her own actions and find appropriate solutions.
These psychosocial counselling clinics are available at courts nationwide and are a positive reinforcement method for individuals the court wants to reintegrate into society, whether through temporary release, suspended sentence, or ex-offenders.
Meanwhile,when the police team arrested Nana Rybena and searched her residence in Soi Ekamai yesterday morning, they initially did not find her husband, Mr. Prinya Intachai, aka “Way Thaitanium” of the Thai-American hip hop music group Thaitanium, in the premises, Amarin TV said.
In addition, investigation revealed that Way Thaitanium had not returned to his residence for approximately three days nor did he visit or offer support to his wife at the Central Investigation Bureau yesterday,
It is rumored that Nana Rybena and Way Titanium divorced last year.
