ROUNDED UP in a raid on the newly-opened NASA pub in Chonburi at 1 a.m. today (June 15) were 157 revellers found to have taken drugs while lots of sachets containing narcotics had been discarded on the floor, Amarin TV said.
A Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) team of officials together with local and narcotics police mounted the raid on this pub in Chonburi city after getting a warrant from the court to do so.
Over 500 revellers were enjoying themselves when the officials and police showed up and many of them unsuccessfully tried to escape.
A count a little later showed 77 bags of drugs had been discarded around the pub as well as some E-cigarettes with four of the revellers also wanted on drug offences.
This pub was only recently opened with celebrities and politicians often holding parties there.
A spy, who had been arrested during a raid on Dirty pub in Pattaya which has been ordered closed for five years, had tipped off the authorities that the same group of pub-goers had now moved to this newly-opened night venue.
NASA pub’s management was charged with running a business without a licence, selling alcohol beyond permitted hours and allowing youths younger than 18 years of age into the establishment.
