POLICE CHIEF Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimon said this evening (Oct. 3) that two not three people were killed in the shooting at Siam Paragon shopping mall with the 14-year-old teen gunman having undergone psychiatric treatment, Thai Rath newspaper and Sanook.com said.
He added that details could not be revealed as the suspect is a youth but he did surrender and has an history of psychiatric treatment at Rajavithi Hospital.
Moreover he cannot be questioned right now as he is not coherent but did say he was told to kill certain people.
Police are trying to contact his parents because they were not at their residence when earlier checked.
Of the two people who died, one is a Chinese national who was killed at the mall’s ground floor while the second person is a Myanmar national who died in the hospital. The five injured people are undergoing treatment.
The teenager used a modified blank, or starter, pistol, he said, adding that he had played some video games.
By going through the social media it was discovered that the suspect had shared a photo of a box magazine with a friend in a chat group and had also kept a video clip of himself practising shooting.
