MOVE Forward leader and prime minister candidate Pita Limjaroenrat told a big crowd of around a thousand people attending a thank you rally at a football field in front of Phuket’s Kathu district office that he wants the island to soar higher and become “The Pearl of the World,” Matichon newspaper said this afternoon (June 9).
Phuket is already known as “The Pearl of Andaman Sea” and propelling Thailand’s largest island and popular tourist destination as “The Pearl of the World” would make it even better known, he said.
Pita was accompanied by Move Forward MP-designate Rangsiman Rome as well as the three who swept the seats for Phuket namely Mr. Somchat Techaworncharoen for Phuket’s district one, Mr. Chalermpong Saengdee for district two, and Mr. Thitikan Thitipruekthikul for district three.
Pita mentioned that on June 21 a Thai delegation will be giving another country presentation to the Bureau of International Exposition (BIE) in Paris, France, for Phuket to be the host of the Specialised Expo 2027/2028.
If this is approved the cash circulation on the island will be ten times higher, he added.
Joining the warm welcome for Pita and his team at the lively thank you rally were a lot of merchants selling various products to the party’s supporters.
