FAMOUS television news anchor Sorayuth Suthassanachinda said in his TV Channel 3 programme this morning (May 25) that under the 8.5 to 1 cabinet portfolio division formula of the tentative eight-party coalition government headed by Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat his party will control security and public affairs while Pheu Thai economy, Sanook.com said.
The details about the positions the parties joining the government will be holding has gone viral online.
According to Sorayuth and online sources the cabinet portfolios will be divided as follows:
Move Forward Party:
Defence Ministry;
Interior Ministry;
Finance Ministry;
Education Ministry;
Digital Economy and Society Ministry;
Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.
Pheu Thai Party:
Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry;
Energy Ministry;
Transport Ministry;
Public Health Ministry;
Industry Ministry;
Commerce Ministry;
Foreign Ministry – headed by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s daughter Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Prachachat Party:
Justice Ministry headed Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong.
The only way Thai Sang Thai party with 6 MPs could secure a cabinet seat is by linking with the smaller partners namely Thai Ruam Palang with two MPs, Thai Liberal one MP, Fair Party one MP and Palang Sangkhom Mai one MP.
